Telangana Panchayats Win Awards For Governance & Women Empowerment
Two Panchayats in the state of Telangana were awarded under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar announced by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj for their performance in rural development and sustainable governance.
New Delhi: Two Panchayats in the state of Telangana were awarded under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP) announced by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj for their performance in good governance and women-friendly initiatives.
Mothukupalli Gram Panchayat, located in Kotepalli mandal of Vikarabad district, received the award in the “Good Governance” category. The panchayat was recognised for ensuring transparent administration, encouraging public participation, and effectively implementing development programmes at the grassroots level.
Fasalwadi Gram Panchayat in Sangareddy mandal of Sangareddy district was selected for the national award in the “Women-Friendly Panchayat” category. The recognition comes in appreciation of its initiatives aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, ensuring safety, and implementing welfare programmes for women.
Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Dr Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), expressed happiness over the achievement, stating that it was a proud moment for Telangana. She said the awards reflect the state government’s commitment to transparent governance, inclusive development, and women’s empowerment.
