Murder Victim Moizuddin’s Son Seeks Special IO Probe
He alleged in the letter that the prime accused, Mujahid Alam Khan and his father Mahbub Alam Khan had conspired to kill the Waqf activist.
Hyderabad: Mohammed Sanaullah Farhan, son of slain advocate and Waqf activist Khaja Moizuddin, said he had written to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, urging him to appoint an special investigation officer and a special public prosecutor on priority basis to handle the murder case.
He alleged in the letter that the prime accused, Mujahid Alam Khan and his father Mahbub Alam Khan had conspired to kill the Waqf activist. He noted that three accused — Abid, Muneer and Hasan Ali ‘Chaush’ were absconding. Farhan told Deccan Chronicle that he had given a representation on June 3 to DGP C.V. Anand on the matter of the probe.
He alleged that crores of rupees from a Waqf property were misused for fraudulent activities, and sought a high-level inquiry, preferably by a retired High Court or Supreme Court judge, into all Waqf properties allegedly under Mahbub Alam Khan the and misuse of funds.
Farhan wrote in the letter that his father Moizuddin had submitted dozens of representations for police protection. He also alleged that he faced a threat from the prime accused. “I was being tracked by unknown and suspicious persons outside my residence,” he said and added that while he had lodged a police complaint on the matter on June 5, the suspects had not been traced.
“All these events are sending very discomforting signals to the advocate fraternity. It is not just about the murder of my father but that of a senior member of the legal fraternity who was very active in the courts,” Farhan said. He also briefed the media later on Wednesday evening along with some Bar Council members on the contents of his letter to the Chief Minister.
