Errakunta Lake Encroachment Allegations- HC Directs HYDRAA And HMDA To Submit Their Contention
The petitioner, Vijay Gopal, sought judicial intervention for the removal of structures allegedly raised within the lake, its full tank level (FTL) area and notified buffer zone.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday sought the response of HYDRAA and the HMDA on a plea alleging official inaction against illegal constructions and encroachments in and around Errakunta, a lake at Tarnaka. Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy directed counsels for HYDRAA and HMDA to obtain instructions on the petition.
The petitioner, Vijay Gopal, sought judicial intervention for the removal of structures allegedly raised within the lake, its full tank level (FTL) area and notified buffer zone. According to the petition, permanent constructions had come up inside and around Errakunta (HMDA Lake ID No. 4500), situated in Survey No. 124 of Lalaguda.
The petitioner said despite the lake having been notified by HMDA under a preliminary notification dated December 17, 2015, authorities had failed to take timely action to prevent or remove the encroachments.
