Modi Virtually Inaugurates Kakatiya Mega Textile Park Under PM MITRA

WARANGAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually inaugurated the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) in Warangal, under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme.
The project was launched via video conference from Hyderabad, with district officials attending the event at the park site through a live broadcast.
Officials present included district collector Dr Satya Sharada, additional collector (Revenue) G. Sandhya Rani, additional collector (Local Bodies) Y.V. Ganesh, ZP CEO Ram Reddy and zonal manager Swami.
According to officials, the total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 1,695 crore. Of this, about Rs 800 crore to Rs 900 crore has been spent on land acquisition, infrastructure and basic facilities.
The Centre has allocated Rs 200 crore under the PM MITRA scheme for the project. Officials said Rs 30 crore was released two months ago, with the remaining Rs 170 crore to be disbursed in phases. Officials said the park is expected to generate employment and integrate the textile value chain from production to exports, contributing to the local economy in Warangal and surrounding areas.
