Hyderabad: Students who appeared for the TG EAPCET 2026 engineering stream on Saturday reported the questions to be of moderate difficulty. The engineering entrance test will also be held on May 10 and 11.

Students received their initial interim scores on computer screens after the exam, based on the preliminary key. The final Eapcet rank will be allotted based on performance, with normalised marks according to the final key. The initial scores are expected to aid students ascertain their rank band, comparing with previous year’s marks and ranks that have been hosted on the Eapcet website. Students said it was helpful to know their score immediately.

The exam was conducted in two sessions at 125 centres across the state. In the morning session, 34,823 students were registered and 32,540 appeared. In the afternoon session, 34,808 were registered and 32,390 appeared.

Students said Mathematics and Physics questions were tough to crack, while Chemistry was relatively easy. Several expressed disappointment as they were unable to answer all questions within the given time.

Sandeep, who took the test at a centre at Moula Ali, said Calculus questions in Mathematics took more time to solve. Another student, S. Raju, said he was not satisfied with his performance as the time was insufficient.

Most of the questions were from Telugu Akademi textbooks, while a few were completely new. Comparatively, the JEE Main paper was more comfortable, he said.

Citing feedback from students, Eapcet coaching experts noted that mathematics and physics problems, which are generally solved in two minutes, took nearly seven minutes.

“Students are scoring 300 out of 300 in JEE Main, but it’s not the case in Eapcet. It is difficult to secure 160 marks as all questions have to be solved in 180 minutes,” said Mathematics expert K. Kishore of TGSWREIS.
