Jana Sena Party on Sunday announced Dr Gadala Srinivas Rao as its candidate for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates Constituency MLC election, which is expected to be held after March 2027.

Srinivas Rao is the party’s official spokesperson and coordinator for the erstwhile Khammam district and a former director of the Telangana health and medical department.

Speaking at a media conference in Khammam, Jana Sena national secretary Ram Thalluri said Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and party founder K. Pawan Kalyan had approved the Telangana unit’s recommendation to field Srinivas Rao. He said Jana Sena was the first political party to announce its candidate for the election and recalled Srinivas Rao’s services in the health department.

Srinivas Rao thanked Pawan Kalyan for selecting him as the party candidate and said he would raise the issues of graduates, employees and educated people in the Legislative Council if elected. He expressed confidence of winning the election.

Jana Sena Telangana state president Shanket Goud said a meeting, “Jana Sena-Shankaravam”, would be held at MG Gardens in Khammam on September 13. More details about the party’s plans for the MLC election would be announced at the meeting, he said.
