HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has registered a case against a Hyderabad-based individual for cheating investors of more than ₹3.56 crore by promising guaranteed monthly returns and repayment of loan EMIs under the guise of a lucrative investment scheme.

According to the complainant, the accused developed close relationships with investors over several years while working with them in private companies in Hyderabad.

Exploiting the trust built through professional association and friendship, he projected himself as an expert in investments and financial markets and claimed to be operating a highly profitable model that assured regular returns.

One victim was persuaded to raise funds through loans from multiple banks and financial institutions.

On assurances that the accused would service monthly EMIs and provide profits amounting to five per cent of the invested capital every month, substantial sums were transferred to his personal account as well as accounts linked to Manikanta Financial Services and Ishvara Online Services. The complainant alone allegedly invested ₹1.92 crore.

The complainant further stated that another investor was also induced to obtain loans from six financial institutions, with funds subsequently routed to the same entities.

The total alleged loss suffered by the complainant and another investor has been estimated at approximately ₹3.56 crore.

The accused initially paid EMIs for a few months, creating confidence among investors, but later stopped making payments.

The complainants alleged that he eventually became untraceable and failed to respond to communications.

The FIR also alleges that the money was routed through multiple bank accounts and third-party entities as part of a planned financial fraud.
