Hanamkonda:Lingala Kedari, owner of Kedari Hotel at Adalat Junction in Hanamkonda, died after a fire broke out at the hotel on Wednesday.

Kedari and his wife suffered severe burn injuries in the incident. They were being shifted to MGM Hospital in Warangal when Kedari succumbed to his injuries. His wife is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Kedari was known in Warangal as a hotelier and for his social service. During the Telangana movement, he provided free tea, breakfast and meals to students and activists.

He later launched the ‘Don’t Waste Food’ campaign to create awareness about food wastage. His efforts received national recognition, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with him during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme.

Several leaders, activists and well-wishers expressed grief over Kedari’s death.
