Land For Airport: First Gram Sabha Held In Kachkanti Village
Farmers demanded that the revenue officials give `6 crore per acre as compensation for their lands to be acquired for the project.
ADILABAD: The first Gram Sabha was held in Kachkanti village in the Adilabad Rural mandal on Wednesday, when revenue officials interacted with 32 farmers from whom 29.19 acres of land are to be acquired for the proposed airport in Adilabad.
Farmers demanded that the revenue officials give Rs 6 crore per acre as compensation for their lands to be acquired for the project.
Some farmers who are losing the lands to the project said a smaller extent of land than their actual extent was shown in records in the primary land survey.
For instance, Kokkila Chinna Ganganna said he has 1 acre 35 guntas and 20 cents of patta land in survey number 51/2/2/2 in Kachakanti village, but the revenue officials have shown his land as 1.14 acres in the primary land survey conducted recently.
The villagers demanded that the state and central governments provide suitable jobs in the airport to members of families losing land to the project.
The oustees asked the revenue officials led by Adilabad RDO Pulluri Jagadishwar Rao and Adilabad Rural mandal MRO Govind Naik to give clarity on the rate for their lands. Officials said the rate would be fixed during the collector’s meeting with the farmers.
The farmers have submitted their objections and claims on the mistakes, which they found in the records vis-a-vis the notice issued for the land acquisition in their villages.
Officials promised the farmers to rectify mistakes, if any, in the primary survey report and do justice to the farmers. The farmers who are losing their lands formed a committee of Kachkanti Grama Bhoo Nirvasithula and Gram Prajalu. Kachkanti Sarpanch Kurra Dattu and others were present.
