GHMC Rejigs Town Planning, Engineering Wings
The officers will monitor activities related to the issuance of building permits, occupancy certificates and enforcement against illegal constructions across the corporation’s 12 zones.
Hyderabad: As part of efforts to streamline the administrative processes in the newly expanded Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), three senior town planning officers have been entrusted with zonal oversight responsibilities.
The officers will monitor activities related to the issuance of building permits, occupancy certificates and enforcement against illegal constructions across the corporation’s 12 zones. GHMC chief city planner K. Srinivas, director of town planning B. Venkanna and director of town planning B. Pradeep Kumar have been assigned the oversight roles.
A GHMC official said the move is expected to provide effective guidance to field-level town planning officials, ensure quicker resolution of issues and strengthen on-ground supervision. “The initiative aims to improve efficiency, accountability and timely decision-making in town planning administration across all zones,” the official added.
In addition, executive engineers and assistant engineers have been transferred and posted, while quality control engineers have also been deployed. Engineers in the electricity wing were among other officials transferred on Saturday.
