NIZAMABAD: Ganesh laddu auctions in the Rudruru mandal of Nizamabad district have emerged as a heartening example of communal harmony, with members of different communities participating in the traditional bidding.
At Raikur Camp village, a young farmer, Shadul, won the Ganesh laddu for ₹32,116 at an auction held on Friday. In another instance, Taher, a reporter, secured the laddu from the idol at the Lakshmi Ganapathi temple in Rudruru for ₹11,111.
The participation of people from different religious communities in the auctions has drawn appreciation from locals, who said the events reflected the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
The annual auctions, traditionally held as part of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, have become more than a religious ritual, providing a platform for community participation and social bonding.
Organisers said the spirit of the celebrations reinforced the message that faith need not be a barrier to communal harmony. Committee members later felicitated the successful bidders. The events have won praise locally for promoting unity and strengthening bonds among villagers.
