KTR Challenges CM Revanth To Release White Paper On 8,000 Acres Land Claims In Sircilla

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy release a White Paper on the alleged encroachment of 8,000 acres of government land in Sircilla by BRS leaders. In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister ahead of his September 30 visit to Sircilla, Rama Rao called the allegations baseless and sought complete details including survey numbers, villages, mandals, names of alleged encroachers and the extent of land involved. Rama Rao said if the claims are true, the government must publish a White Paper, and if not, Revanth Reddy should offer an unconditional apology to the people of Sircilla.

Rama Rao highlighted pending dues of ` 60 crore to weavers, restoration of the `5 lakh weaver insurance scheme, and reopening of the weaving park that he said was currently being used for storage purposes. He accused the Congress government of stopping the Bathukamma sari scheme and limiting textile orders to women’s groups only, reducing employment for weavers from year-round to less than six months.

The BRS leader sought clarity on Rythu Bandhu arrears, the promised `2 lakh loan waiver per farmer, and revival of crop insurance. Rama Rao claimed that during the BRS regime, around 56,000 farmers in Sircilla constituency had received `532 crore as investment support under Rythu Bandhu at `10,000 per acre, but the Congress government had failed to increase it to `15,000 as promised.

Rama Rao questioned what he called the delay in implementing Congress’s election guarantees such as the Mahalakshmi scheme, pension hikes, and welfare programmes like Dalit Bandhu and BC Bandhu. He said the unpaid pensions for the 33 months that the Congress was in power now had mounted to `66,000 per each senior citizen and beedi worker, and demanded immediate release of the amount.
