EC Sets Up 16 Help Desks in Hyderabad for Voter Roll Revision
BLOs would visit homes till July 24 to distribute and collect enumeration forms
HYDERABAD: The Election Commission has started 16 help desks in Hyderabad district to guide voters through the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral roll, including help with enumeration forms and information on the electoral registration officer, assistant electoral registration officer and booth level officers.
Each desk has an in-charge who will explain the do’s and don’ts of the revision process and respond to voters’ doubts. The desks are located at the municipal offices in Domalguda for Musheerabad; Government Quarters for Malakpet; Abids Parking Complex for Amberpet and Goshamahal; Khairatabad for Khairatabad and Karwan; Yousufguda checkpost for Jubilee Hills; and Hari Hara Kala Bhavan for Sanathnagar.
Nampally voters can visit the municipal office opposite Sai Baba Temple at Gudimalkapur. Desks for Charminar and Chandrayangutta are at Moghalpura and Jangammet, while Yakutpura and Bahadurpura share the Phoolbagh location. Secunderabad’s desk is beside the Secunderabad court, the Secunderabad Cantonment desk is at the Cantonment Board office, and another desk is available at the GHMC commissioner’s office on Tank Bund.
BLOs would visit homes till July 24 to distribute and collect enumeration forms. Locked houses must receive at least three visits, and voters may also submit forms online, subject to physical verification.
“No supporting documents will be collected during the initial phase,” Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy said. The draft electoral roll is scheduled for July 31, claims and objections may be filed until August 30, and the final roll is due on October 1.
