Karimnagar: A donation made to the Annadana Trust of the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada has sparked a dispute after the donor’s family sought the return of the amount.

Pasula Lakshminarayana, a resident of Subashnagar in Vemulawada, donated Rs 7,01,116 to the temple’s Annadana Trust on Monday. He, along with his wife Janabai, visited the temple and handed over the amount to officials at the protocol office.

On Tuesday, four of Lakshminarayana’s daughters, accompanied by their mother, approached the temple authorities seeking the return of the donation. They claimed that Lakshminarayana’s mental condition was not stable at the time of making the donation.

Temple authorities declined the request, stating that the temple’s rules did not permit the refund of donations once accepted.

According to family members, Lakshminarayana had told his wife that he intended to donate Rs 1 lakh. However, after reaching the temple office, he allegedly donated the entire Rs 7,01,116 he had brought with him.
