Hyderabad: DGP C.V. Anand on Tuesday congratulated police sharpshooters who won 15 medals — six gold, four silver and five bronze — in two competitions.
At the 17th South Zone Shooting Championship, held in Thiruvananthapuram from August 31 to September 8, police shooters won four medals - two gold, one silver and one bronze. Niranjan Reddy won gold in the 50-metre free pistol and 25-metre centre-fire pistol and silver in the 25-metre standard pistol. Inspector B. James Babu won bronze in the 25-metre standard pistol (Master).

Future City inspector B. James Babu won a silver and a bronze and Women ASI V. Suvarna of Warangal commissionerate secured gold in the 50-metre rifle prone (Master Women). CI B. Shankar of CSW Hyderabad won gold in the 25-metre standard pistol (Master). Head constable P. Srinivas, 3rd Battalion, TGSP, and woman constable B. Shravani of the Koutala police also secured medals.
