Cabinet May Clear Two Pending DAs, Decide On PRC Timeline

HYDERABAD: The state Cabinet will meet at the Secretariat on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and is expected to approve two of the six pending dearness allowances (DAs) for government employees and pensioners.
Official sources said the Cabinet is likely to approve the first DA of 3.64 per cent and the second of 2.74 per cent.
The Cabinet is also expected to decide on a timeline for obtaining the new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) report for revising the salaries and pensions of government employees and pensioners.
The meeting is likely to review drought conditions in several districts following deficient rainfall during the kharif season and discuss a contingency crop plan for the ensuing rabi season, particularly in view of low water reserves in irrigation projects.
The Cabinet is also expected to discuss arrangements for the Invest Telangana Global Summit, scheduled to be held in Future City in December, and the proposed Indiramma Family Life Insurance scheme. Under the scheme, the government plans to provide ₹5 lakh insurance cover to a family in the event of the death of its head. The scheme is proposed to be launched on November 19, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Among other issues likely to come up for discussion is the report of the Keshava Rao committee on the proposed merger of polytechnic colleges with Young India Skills University.
The Cabinet may also consider measures to provide relief from the Section 22A prohibited lands list, new Cheyutha pensions, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, plans for the takeover of Hyderabad Metro Phase 1, tenders for the Musi rejuvenation project, the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and the distribution of Indiramma saris for the Bathukamma festival.
The Cabinet is also expected to deliberate on the restoration of the Kaleshwaram project barrages, land acquisition for irrigation projects and revision of project estimates.
