Congress MLA from Narayanpet Chittem Parnika Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress MLA Chittem Parnika Reddy on Wednesday termed the disruptions in the Assembly over the past three days as “sad”, while alleging that issues concerning the state and the public were not being discussed as the proceedings were repeatedly disrupted by the Opposition BRS leaders.

She alleged that the opposition was diverting the debate from Assembly business and raising issues unrelated to the scheduled proceedings. Referring to the controversy over alleged untouchability involving Dalits, the
Narayanpet MLA
said it was unfortunate that the issue was being brought up in the Assembly. Despite the members having been requested to cooperate and allow the House to function smoothly, the disruptions had continued for the past two days, she stated.
The Congress MLA said the Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar had to take a decision to ensure that the Assembly proceedings continued smoothly. She expressed hope that the House would now function properly so that MLAs could raise issues concerning their constituencies and matters affecting the people of Telangana during the remaining session.
