Sangareddy DIEO Held in Rs.20,000 Bribe Case
The accused officer had initially demanded 50,000 and had already accepted 30,000 as bribe: ACB
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday nabbed Ramavath Govind Ram, District Intermediate Education Officer (DIEO) in Sangareddy at his office while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour.
He demanded the bribe for conducting an inspection and submitting a report for extension of provisional affiliation for renewal of the complainant's Vikas Vocational Junior College, Sangareddy. He had initially demanded 50,000 and had already accepted 30,000 as bribe.
The tainted bribe amount of Rs.20,000 was recovered from the possession of the officer, who allegedly performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, ACB officials said.
