HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG-EAPCET) 2025 commenced on Tuesday with the Agriculture and Pharmacy stream. Conducted by JNTU Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana Council of Higher Education, the test was held in two sessions from 9 am to 12 noon and between 3 pm and 6 pm.
According to convenor Dr B Dean Kumar, 28,834 candidates registered for the first session, of which 26,741 were present. The attendance stood at 92.74 per cent. In the second session, 26,964 candidates appeared out of 28,830 registrations, recording a higher attendance of 93.53 per cent. Officials from TGCHE, JNTUH, and other coordinators were present during the start of the computer-based test.
Attendance varied across zones. Mahbubnagar, Adilabad and Hyderabad III saw attendance rates above 95 per cent, while Khammam, Nalgonda, and Sangareddy hovered close to that. Hyderabad-I reported the lowest turnout, with 90 per cent attendance in the first session and 91.3 per cent in the second.
Across both sessions, the test was conducted smoothly, with the majority of zones reporting minimal absenteeism. The numbers provided cover 21 zones including major centres such as Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad.
This round is part of the entrance process for students seeking admission into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy courses in Telangana for the academic year 2025–26. The remaining tests for engineering and other streams are scheduled in the following days.
