WARANGAL: Two workers from Uttar Pradesh have died in an accident at the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Geesugonda mandal in the erstwhile Warangal district in the early hours of Thursday.

Preliminary information suggested that a boiler explosion may have triggered the accident. Workers present at the company were reportedly thrown into panic following the incident.

Geesugonda police reached the spot and inspected the scene. The bodies were recovered from the site. As the bodies had suffered extensive injuries, post-mortem examinations were reportedly conducted at the accident site in the presence of the RDO.

Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident, including whether a technical fault in the boiler led to the explosion and whether there was any lapse in implementing safety standards.

Investigators are also examining the safety measures at the company, how the workers became trapped inside the lift and the steps taken by the management after the accident.
