2 Held for Illegal Oxytocin Sale
Two men were arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly selling banned, unlabelled oxytocin injections meant for cattle during a raid conducted by Pocharam IT Corridor police and Uppal SOT.
Pocharam IT Corridor police along with Uppal SOT sleuths arrested two persons for selling banned, unlabelled oxytocin injections meant for use on cattle during a raid at Maktha village in Ghatkesar police station limits.
The accused were identified as Muntha Rangaiah Yadav, 58, who runs a water filter business and his son Muntha Srisailam Yadav, 33, engaged in the milk business. Both are residents of Maktha village in Chowdariguda.
Acting on credible information, police raided the Jai Mahankali water plant premises, where banned and unlabelled oxytocin injections were allegedly being sold illegally. Following instructions from senior officers, the sub-inspector and patrol staff conducted the operation and seized the prohibited injections during the raid.
During the raid, police caught the duo selling banned oxytocin injections illegally for financial gain. On questioning, the accused admitted to the offence. Police seized five bottles of unlabelled oxytocin injections from the accused. The seized material and the accused were brought to the police station, following which a case was registered and further investigation was taken up.
