Won’t Give Up TN Rights Over River Water, Says CM
Vijay goes full blast against DMK, AIADMK: Reports
TIRUCHY: Chief Minister Vijay declared that his government will not give up the rights of Tamil Nadu over river water. He also promised to give a casteless and religion-free administration.
Speaking at the thanksgiving meeting of voters of Tiruchy East constituency at Tiruchy on Monday, he said the TVK has destroyed the 50-year-old. religion, community-based politics and the culture of purchasing votes with cash. He said the TVK government will ensure social justice and equality for all people.
Vijay came down heavily on the AIADMK and said hereafter, the contest will be between the TVK and DMK.
He said the ‘evil force’ and ‘worn-out force’ made a wily attempt to form the government to rob the state, as they thought if the TVK formed the government, they cannot continue to rob Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister said the TVK government is committed to give a corruption-free and bribery-free government for the people of Tamil Nadu.
The previous DMK government only irrigates hot water to the roots of Tamil Nadu, besides cheating the Tamil Nadu people with lies. The DMK is not only worn out but has also been abandoned by the people, he said.
He said the two-week-old TVK government had written off farm loans to some extent, closed hundreds of Tasmac retail outlets, and increased free electricity supply up to 200 units.
He pointed out 100-unit free supply was not given by the DMK government led by M.K. Stalin but was given by late chief minister J. Jayalalithaa.
He said some people announced that he will give six months’ time to the TVK government to see its performance, but they cannot wait, not even for six hours to criticise the government.
Charging that they were wailing in a wedding house and they have cheated people for the past more than 50 years, now the people have sidelined them, he said and added that Vijay will function as the first servant of the people.
He also pointed out that late chief minister MGR did not have support in his first venture like the TVK. However, he said he was not comparing such a political personality with the TVK.
Like in 1977, in the 2026 election, voters gave great support to the TVK, he said.
However, the people could have extended their support some more to the TVK, he said, and hoped that in the future elections, the people of Tamil Nadu will extend their full support to the TVK.
He took strong exception to the criticism of wearing a suit and said he wears suit in two colours - black and white - to show that he is black and white in all aspects.
He welcomed such criticism and said he wanted them to continue their criticism against him so that it would give fresh energy to him.
He said Vijay who came to work for the people will give clean and efficient administration to the people in future. He said all the attacks against the TVK government by the DMK will benefit the TVK.
Vijay also took strong exception to the criticism of voters who voted for the TVK as ‘tharkuri’ and said the same voters made their political career a big question mark.
He also dismissed the criticism of the voters of the TVK as having no political knowledge and based only on looks. He asked how the same people voted for the previous government in the last more than 50 years.
He said the DMK launched by the former chief minister C.N. Annadurai was made its slave and said the reason behind the present status of the DMK was only because of the Stalin family. Each and every DMK cadre knows this fully, he said, and advised the party to be a constructive Opposition and try to get a place in the minds of the people.
Replying to the criticism about the present law and order situation in Tamil Nadu under the TVK rule, he said the previous DMK government had made drug culture flourish in every street of Tamil Nadu and “now they blame us”.
He said the TVK government is for an efficient police team, including Singappen Kaval Padai, which will be formally inaugurated next week. He said he had also instructed the police to file chargesheet and other court proceedings against the criminals and others involved in several cases quickly and also see that they were convicted.
He said the Tiruchy East and Perambur constituencies were his two eyes; and in the coming byelection to Tiruchy East, the TVK will give the seat to one among them. He called upon the people to extend their support to that person like they would to Vijay.
