TIRUNELVELI: Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran has warned the TVK government, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, against allowing the corrupt culture of the previous DMK regime to continue under its administration.

In a post on his X page on Friday, Nagenthran alleged that serious irregularities had taken place in the implementation of the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) at Thirumangalam, in Madurai district, depriving eligible poor beneficiaries of houses.
He alleged that during the previous DMK regime, Rs. 21 lakh was misappropriated without even a single brick being laid for the houses sanctioned under the scheme.
Neighbouring houses were allegedly shown as those constructed for the beneficiaries, he claimed.
The BJP leader attributed the alleged irregularities to official apathy and the corrupt culture that prevailed during the DMK regime. He also urged the TVK government to ensure that such “daylight robbery” did not continue under its rule and that Central welfare schemes reached the poor for whom they were intended.
