EPS Mocks Vijay's London Trip to Woo Entrepreneurs
Edappadi K. Palaniswami said there has been a plethora of protests ever since the TVK government came to power.
Tiruchy: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has criticised Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's London trip to attract entrepreneurs, saying it seems he has attracted none so far. ''I saw photos in newspapers, but there were no entrepreneurs in it'', he quipped.
He told media persons at Tiruchy on Sunday that the AIADMK will win the bye-elections for Madurantakam and Dharapuram assembly constituencies where the party had won last time.
He said there has been a plethora of protests ever since the TVK government came to power. He said there were severe power outages in Tirunelveli district, which led to protests on the streets with candles. They have already issued statements regarding this issue and even raised it in the Legislative Assembly, but they have received no response. Severe power outages are occurring across Tamil Nadu, he added.
He said the TVK government had issued a white paper, saying Tamil Nadu had a loan burden of Rs 10 lakh crore. Still they have proposed a Rs 1,200 crore new secretariat complex. He asked why we need a new Secretariat? The current one is enough. Furthermore, the location they have chosen is inappropriate. It is a densely populated residential area for fisherfolk, an area with high concentration of schools, and a zone already prone to heavy traffic congestion. They have rushed into this decision without considering any of these factors, he added .
