20 Tamil Nadu Police Officers Conferred Prestigious Medals on I-Day

Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM): Awarded to 17 police personnel across various ranks for their sustained devotion to duty and exemplary service record.

Chennai: The Government of India has awarded prestigious service medals to 20 Tamil Nadu Police personnel on the eve of Independence Day 2026, in recognition of their exemplary dedication and service.

According to an official release from the Office of the Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Chennai, the honors include both distinguished and meritorious service recognitions.

President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM): Conferred upon 3 senior police officers for outstanding and distinguished career achievements.

Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM): Awarded to 17 police personnel across various ranks for their sustained devotion to duty and exemplary service record.

The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to K. Ramachandran, Additional Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Viruthunagar, J. Vijai Anand, Additional Superintendent of Police, ‘Q' Branch CID, Headquarters, Chennai and S. Kumar, Assistant Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police IX Battalion, Manimut.
