Yadgir: Food and police officials seized 6.5 quintals of rice allegedly being transported for sale in the black market at Kembhavi in Surpur taluk and registered a case against the owner and driver of the vehicle.

Acting on a tip-off, food inspectors from Surpur and police personnel conducted a joint raid and intercepted a Tata Ace.

The vehicle was found carrying rice worth around Rs 15,080, which was allegedly meant for distribution to beneficiaries under various government schemes.
