Car Reduced To Ashes After Collision Against Fuel Dispenser In Bengaluru
A high-end car caught fire after allegedly colliding with a fuel dispenser at a petrol bunk on Bengaluru-Hosur Road, with the driver taken into custody.
A driver of a high-end car, reportedly in inebriate condition, dashed against a fuel dispensing machine at a petrol bunk on Bengaluru-Hosur road of Attibele in Bengaluru on Wednesday night and the impact of the collision with the fuel dispensing machine triggered fire in the car leading to the car reduced to ashes in the incident. The car in flames was recorded by passers-by on their mobile phones.
It is said the car was driven by a person identified as Sanjay, a resident of Parappana Agrahara of Bengaluru city. Sanjay was reportedly inebriated and entered the bunk to refill his car and initially he collided with one of the personnel identified as Gundu Kumar at the bunk and Gundu Kumar sustained injuries in his head and legs. It is suspected Sanjay might have pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake pedal to ram against a fuel dispensing machine at the bunk.
After the car caught fire, the girl with Sanjay escaped while Sanjay was taken into custody by the police after being alerted by the petrol bunk staff.
An eyewitness stated the incident occurred at around 11 pm. The high-end car was the third vehicle in the row for refuelling at the bunk and a staff member asked the high-end car driver whether he wanted petrol or diesel, the car driver suddenly rammed against the fuel dispensing machine and the fuel dispensing machine got uprooted and fell on the staff. There was spark notice and the personnel tried their best to douse the fire but could not contain the fire. Later, fire force personnel were altered and they swung into action to extinguish the fire.
By then, the eye witness said, Sanjay tried to escape from the spot before he was caught by the bunk staff to take him over to the police. A staff member of the petrol bunk confirmed two passengers in the high-end car, including the driver.
