Navy Clarifies Explosion Sound And Vibrations Were Due To Routine Armament Demolition Activity

Mangaluru: In response to some media reports regarding an explosion near Karwar Naval Base, in Karwar, the Indian Navy has clarified that the sound of the explosion and vibrations reported in the area were due to routine demolition activity of armament conducted at the Naval Armament Depot (NAD).

“These activities are carried out in a perfectly controlled environment, in presence of specialists, and strictly in accordance with laid-down safety protocols. The Indian Navy remains committed at all times to the safety and well-being of the local community,” the statement noted.
