Karnataka: Vinay Kulkarni Returns To Dharwad After Court Lifts Entry Restriction

Kulkarni’s entry to the district was banned for nearly six years in connection with the Yogesh Gowda murder case. While Kulkarni was convicted in the murder case in April, Karnataka High Court subsequently stayed his conviction. Meanwhile the Special Court for Elected Representatives also permitted him to enter the district.

Following this, the Dharwad MLA reached his residence at Shivagiri on Friday. His family members and close aides welcomed him at the house Before reaching home, Kulkarni visited Murugamatha, where he offered prayers. He later proceeded to his residence, where his supporters and well-wishers received him.

Speaking to reporters, Kulkarni said he was happy to be back in Dharwad after such a long gap and expressed gratitude to his family members, party workers and leaders who had stood by him during his absence.

Kulkarni acknowledged that some works may have been delayed in his constituency during his absence but said several development works had nevertheless been completed.

“Some works may have been delayed in my absence, but many works have been completed. I will continue the work in the coming days,” he said.
