RAIPUR: A man here vandalized the Shivling and Hanuman idols for being upset with the god for not giving him employment.
The accused, identified as Hemant Agrawal (42), was on Friday arrested, police said.
The incident took place in the Gudhiyari area late on Thursday night, police said.
The police sprang to action after a complaint in this regard was filed by one Pravin Lanjevar.
According to the police, the accused was a regular visitor to the temple seeking divine intervention by the deities of the shrine to get him employment.
His frustration grew for not getting any employment leading him to vandalize the idols of the deities with a hammer late on Thursday night, police said.
The accused has no record of crimes against him earlier, police said.
He was remanded to judicial custody after being produced before a local court, police said.
