Dharmasthala Celebrates Annual Padabhisheka Of Lord Bahubali

Mangaluru: The annual Padabhisheka ceremony to the statue of Lord Bahubali installed at Ratnagiri in Dharmasthala, was performed on Tuesday.

The ritual was conducted by Karkala Jain Math pontiff Pujya Lalitakeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji and Kshullak Nirvan Sagar Maharaj. The idol’s consecrators Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade and Hemavathi Heggade, along with family members also joined in offering the Padabhisheka.
After Jalabhisheka with water from 216 kalashas, the idol was anointed with auspicious substances such as sugarcane juice, sandalwood paste, turmeric and sacred powders. The ceremony concluded with Padabhisheka using Purnakumbha, floral showers, Mahamangalarati and recitation of Shanti Mantras.
In his address, Swamiji said that Bahubali’s ideals of sacrifice and non-violence are universally relevant.
