BJP MLA’s Anticipatory Bail Plea In A Murder Case Rejected

BENGALURU: The Special Court to deal exclusively with MPs/MLAs, Bengaluru on Tuesday dismissed an anticipatory bail plea filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Byrathi Basavaraja, an accused in the murder of a rowdy-sheeter turned realtor Shivaprakash alias Biklu Shiva (44).
However, the BJP MLA is absconding and sleuths of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigating the murder case constituted 3 teams to trace the MLA, representing Krishnaraja Puram, Assembly seat of Bengaluru city.
Biklu Shiva was allegedly murdered near his house close to Halasuru Lake of Bengaluru city on July 15 and it is alleged the murder of Biklu Shiva took place over a land dispute. Accused 1 Jagadeesh and his armed associates alleged to have attacked Biklu Shiva leading to his death.
Over the murder, Vijayalakshmi, the mother of the deceased Biklu Shiva in her complaint to the police alleged the role of Byrathi Basavaraj and police based on the complaint named the BJP MLA as accused 5. In connection with the murder of Biklu Shiva, Basavaraj was questioned by the police twice before the case was transferred to CID sleuths.
Meanwhile, tracking the BJP MLA, CID sleuths have gathered details on his location and his last location tracing was in Pune of Maharashtra.
