Four persons, hailing from Assam, were found dead at a rented house in Hoskote taluk of Bengaluru Rural district on Friday under Sulibele police station limits.

Bengaluru:Four persons, hailing from Assam, were found dead at a rented house in Hoskote taluk of Bengaluru Rural district on Friday under Sulibele police station limits.

However, police suspect the deaths to suffocation caused while they were cooking at a small house having poor ventilation. Police have ordered an autopsy of the dead to determine the cause of the deaths of migrants.

The deceased have been identified as Jayant Sinte Khageswar (25), Narendranath Taid (24), Taid (25) and Dhananjay Taid (20). They worked as warehouse loaders.

Police said the accommodation in which the loaders stayed was small and had a small vent for ventilation. On Friday, the labourers were cooking rice on a gas stove with the single window for ventilation closed and some leaves fumes made the labourers suffocate in their small accommodation.

The deaths came to notice when a friend of the labourers visited the house and knocked at the door repeatedly. When he did not get a response from inside, he opened the window to discover his friends in a state of unconsciousness. Police were informed.
