YSRC Warns of Mass Stir Over Youth Job Concerns
“The youth are roaring and students are burning with anger,” he said, warning that the YSRC Youth Wing would intensify its agitation if the government failed to respond to their demands.
Vijayawada: YSRC state youth wing secretary Rahul Chakravarthy Reddy on Sunday warned that growing anger among youth and students over alleged lack of employment opportunities and irregularities in recruitment could lead to a mass agitation if their concerns were not addressed.
Addressing the concluding day of a three-day relay hunger strike organised by the YSRC in the Pileru constituency, Reddy said the youth were demanding the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh over what he termed failures in recruitment and employment generation.
“The youth are roaring and students are burning with anger,” he said, warning that the YSRC Youth Wing would intensify its agitation if the government failed to respond to their demands.
Reddy said the government could face a mass movement on the lines of protests witnessed in Delhi, cutting across political affiliations, if the grievances of youth and students continued to be ignored.
He urged the government to rectify alleged errors in the recruitment process and ensure transparency and fairness for job aspirants. He said the protest sought to highlight the concerns of youngsters seeking government employment and a fair recruitment process.
The protest was held under the leadership of former MLA Chintala Rama Chandra Reddy. YSRC State Working President Hari Prasad Reddy, former Minority Commissioner Iqbal Ahmed, Kalikiri Village Committee president Haneef Shaik, A.T. Ratnasekhar Reddy, YSRC mandal president Dandu Jaganmohan, Ramesh Reddy, Ratnakar Reddy, Keshava Reddy, Shivareddy and Venkataramana participated.
