Visakhapatnam: Case Booked After Lorry Driver Assaulted by Men

Hyderabad: The Malakapuram police have registered a case and launched an investigation into a complaint alleging that a lorry driver from Madhya Pradesh was assaulted by some persons after they boarded his vehicle.
According to police, Seshagiri Rao, General Secretary of the New Andhra Motor Truckers Association, lodged a complaint at the Malakapuram police regarding the alleged assault and disappearance of lorry driver Bhairav Lal Sahu.
Speaking to ANI, Malakapuram Circle Inspector Narasimha Rao said the complaint was received at around 10.30 am and alleged that Sahu had gone missing two days ago after some persons boarded his lorry and assaulted him.
"At about 10.30 am, the Secretary of the New Andhra Motor Truckers Association, Vijayawada, lodged a complaint at Malakapuram police station regarding the disappearance of a lorry driver, Bhairav Lal Sahu, two days ago. He alleged that some persons beat him after boarding the lorry. In this instance, we registered a case and are investigating," Rao said.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the driver's alleged disappearance and assault. Earlier, in a separate incident, a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the death of a six-year-old student in Visakhapatnam, who allegedly died after being beaten by a school teacher on August 21.
