Vijayawada: India is projected to grow at 7 per cent in 2026 and 2027 despite global economic uncertainty, highlighting its resilience and potential to drive the global economy, according to Lanka Dinakar, chairman of the state government’s Twenty Points Programme implementation.

Referring to the International Monetary Fund’s October 2026 World Economic Outlook, he said India’s projected growth would exceed China’s 4.5 and 4 per cent, respectively, and the global economy’s 3.1 and 3.4 per cent.

The United States is projected to grow at 2.3 per cent in both years.

Dinakar attributed India’s growth to infrastructure investment, digital transformation, manufacturing, entrepreneurship and policy reforms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He said the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision aimed at building a developed, self-reliant and inclusive nation, with improvements in healthcare, education, infrastructure and livelihoods.

Effective implementation of the Twenty Points Programme would ensure transparency, accountability and delivery of welfare benefits to eligible beneficiaries, he added.
