Dy. Chairman Alleges Denial Of Protocol, Facilities
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Thumati Madhava Rao has alleged that the NDA government denied him official facilities and protocol, and warned of approaching the President if the issues remain unresolved.
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Thumati Madhava Rao has alleged that the NDA government was undermining constitutional institutions by denying him the protocol, facilities and respect due to his office.
Madhava Rao met Governor S. Abdul Nazeer here on Tuesday and apprised him of the alleged denial of protocol and the impact on the dignity of the constitutional office of Deputy Chairman.
Later, speaking to the media, he said the Governor had responded positively to his representation. He alleged that despite his election, he had not been provided with the designated chamber, staff, personal secretary, security and other protocol facilities. He also claimed that he was being denied the protocol and courtesies due to his office at TTD temples.
Questioning the government’s approach, he asked whether Andhra Pradesh was being governed under the Constitution framed by Dr B.R. Ambedkar or Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “Red Book Constitution”.
He also demanded that the leaders of the three-party NDA coalition take responsibility and resign over what he termed false propaganda surrounding the Tirumala laddu prasadam issue.
Madhava Rao said he would give the government a week to address the alleged violations. If the issues remained unresolved, he would meet the President of India and bring the alleged constitutional and protocol violations to her notice.
