Vijayawada: Amaravati Economic Region Push for Sustainable Growth

Vijayawada: The inclusion of NTR district in the Amaravati Economic Region (AER) will help attract investments, industries and create employment opportunities, NTR district Collector Dr G. Lakshmisha said on Friday.

Addressing a workshop in Vijayawada on the AER, Lakshmisha called for identifying the district’s strengths, resources and infrastructure to promote cluster-based industrial development.

The state government is developing the AER as an economic ecosystem around Amaravati, integrating surrounding districts into a common growth framework.

Brainstorming sessions and workshops are being held to identify investment and development opportunities.

PwC representative Binay Soreng outlined the nine pillars of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the 10 principles of the Swarna Andhra Vision, including zero poverty, skill development, agri-tech and deep-tech.

He highlighted the potential of agriculture and allied sectors as well as IT, ITeS and digital services.

Lakshmisha stressed value addition to locally available resources, support for MSMEs and skill development to expand employment opportunities.

He said the district administration was coordinating with government departments and private stakeholders to promote sustainable and inclusive growth.

Officials from the Agriculture, Industries, Tourism and APIIC departments and representatives of MSME associations, UltraTech, Centini and Sri Bharat Labs participated in the workshop and shared their views for the state-level planning exercise.

The collector said coordination among departments, private-sector participation and optimum use of local resources would help NTR district play a key role in the AER.
