Andhra Pradesh: 4,500 Cops Deployed For Garuda Seva Rush

Rayudu said the rush could remain high for nearly 36 hours due to the weekend, Tamil Purattasi month and Garuda Seva. Special attention would be given to the mada streets, galleries, queue lines, GNC and other sensitive locations. Rope parties would be kept ready to deal with sudden crowd pressure.

Once the galleries and mada streets reach capacity, devotees would be regulated through inner and outer cordons and designated feeding channels, he said. Special queue lines would operate from ATGH to Tirumala Nambi temple, Krishna Teja Circle to West 1 Gate, Gangamma temple to North 1 Gate and Octopus Circle to East 1 Gate. The lines would open two hours before the processional deity’s arrival.

Two-wheelers will be barred on the ghat roads on Saturday. In Tirumala, vehicles will be diverted to alternative parking areas after internal parking spaces are filled. In Tirupati, private vehicles will be parked at designated centres and devotees taken by RTC buses to GNC and then to Tirumala through free bus services.

QR code-based parking guidance, CCTV and automatic number plate recognition cameras will be used for traffic management. Drones will monitor Garuda Circle, the Alipiri toll gate and parking areas.

Help desks will be arranged at several locations, while digital geo-tagging bands will be provided to children, senior citizens and persons with special needs to help trace them if separated from their families.

The Garuda Control Room, sub-control rooms and the GNC command and control system will monitor the situation. Police, TTD vigilance, RTC and other departments will maintain a dedicated communication network for quick response, Rayudu said.
