Tiger Found Dead In Atmakur Forest Range

A tiger was found dead in the Nagalooti range of the Atmakur forest division in Nandyal district, forest officials said. The big cat, estimated to be around 10 years old, is believed to have died nearly four days ago.

Officials noted that the carcass was found in a decomposed state, indicating that the animal had been dead for several days before being spotted. The incident has drawn concern, particularly as it came to light on International Tiger Day.

However, the forest department is yet to issue an official statement on the incident. A senior official from the Srisailam forest range said that the exact cause of death is being investigated.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the tiger may have died due to illness, though officials said a clear cause would be determined only after further examination.
