NTR Vaidya Seva Trust chief executive officer A. A. L. Padmavathi submitted a report on the action taken against hospitals to health minister Satya Kumar Yadav in Vijayawada on Saturday.
According to the report, the Trust suspended 25 hospitals, stopped payments to 13, delisted five and derecognised one hospital for irregularities in providing healthcare under the scheme, in addition to imposing the fines.
The report listed complaints from patients about hospitals collecting money despite the scheme, denying cashless treatment to eligible patients, delaying treatment, failing to comply with healthcare norms and neglecting patients. The Trust is examining the complaints and related details.
Around 1,000 private hospitals are associated with the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust in the state.
Padmavathi said the Trust was using artificial intelligence to verify records and bills related to treatment provided under the scheme, identify lapses and take action against hospitals in accordance with the norms.
