VIJAYAWADA: The proposed Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul campus in Amaravati moved a step closer to reality on Monday with the completion of land registration for the educational institution.

The AP capital region development authority, on behalf of the state government, registered 4.235 acres at Nekkallu in favour of the Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul Trust.

The campus is expected to add strength to Amaravati’s emerging education ecosystem by combining modern academic infrastructure with value-based and holistic education. The trust thanked chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, municipal administration minister P Narayana and APCRDA officials for facilitating the project.

Founded in 1948 by Shastriji Maharaj Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami, the trust has over 77 years of experience and operates more than 65 campuses in India and abroad. It has provided education to over 1.25 lakh students. Its educational model integrates modern education (Vidya), value-based learning (Sadvidya) and spiritual knowledge (Brahmavidya).

The Amaravati campus, planned from pre-primary to Class XII, will feature smart classrooms, science and AI laboratories, STEM learning, sports facilities and sustainable infrastructure. It is expected to generate over 300 direct jobs besides indirect employment. Trust representative Sadhu Shukvallabh Das said the Phase-I construction would begin shortly after municipal layout approvals are secured.
