Serentica Launches Helpline for Farmers in Anantapur, Kurnool

 ANANTAPUR: Anantapur district collector O. Anand launched the Serentica Farmers’ Helpline, 18003097701, at a meeting held at the Collectorate here, enabling farmers in Anantapur and Kurnool districts to raise concerns and seek clarification on issues related to wind and solar power projects. He said the initiative would help strengthen communication, transparency and trust between farmers and the company.

Anand said there should be no communication gap between farmers and renewable energy companies operating in the region. Several farmers had brought project-related issues to his notice, following which he discussed them with Serentica representatives. The company responded positively by introducing the dedicated helpline, he said.

The helpline will enable farmers to directly interact with company representatives without the involvement of middlemen, the collector said. He suggested that other renewable energy project companies also establish similar helplines to ensure greater accountability and better coordination with farmers.

Through the helpline, farmers can seek information on land-related matters, compensation and payment issues, project construction schedules and the movement of vehicles and personnel through agricultural fields. They can also obtain details on safety measures around wind turbines and solar panels and raise other village-level concerns.
