Andhra Pradesh: Heavy Rush Chokes Srisailam Ghat Road
Vehicles moved slowly between Sakshi Ganapathi and Hatakeswaram, while traffic was stranded for nearly five kilometres from the Srisailam entry point towards Sunnipenta: Reports
KURNOOL: Heavy traffic congestion was reported on the Srisailam ghat road on Saturday as a large number of devotees and tourists headed to Srisailam amid a series of holidays.
Vehicles moved slowly between Sakshi Ganapathi and Hatakeswaram, while traffic was stranded for nearly five kilometres from the Srisailam entry point towards Sunnipenta. Long queues forced passengers to remain on the road for hours.
Police personnel were deployed to regulate traffic, but the heavy rush made management difficult.
Tourists heading to the Srisailam reservoir following recent inflows further added to the congestion.
Meanwhile, temple officials said devotees were waiting for hours in queues for darshan at the Srisailam temple.
