Prakasam Collector Pulls Up Negligent BLOs for Laxity
Prakasam Collector P. Rajababu pulled up underperforming booth level officers during a surprise inspection of electoral roll revision work in Ongole.
Prakasam district collector P. Rajababu on Thursday expressed displeasure over the poor performance of a booth level officer (BLO) and an additional BLO during a surprise inspection of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at the Gandhi Nagar Ward Secretariat in Ongole.
Warning against negligence in the voter enrolment process, the collector directed officials to replace underperforming BLOs, if necessary, and ensure the revision exercise is carried out efficiently and without delay.
Rajababu reviewed the progress of voter registration, sought details of electoral registration officers (EROs), and personally verified the enrolment process through the mobile application used for voter registration.
He instructed officials to complete the electoral roll revision with speed, accuracy and transparency, stressing that no eligible voter should be left out of the process. He called for proactive efforts to ensure every eligible citizen is enrolled in the revised electoral rolls.
Joint collector Kalpana Kumari, Ongole municipal commissioner Krishnayya, revenue divisional officer Chandrasekhar Naidu and other officials accompanied the collector during the inspection.
