Woman Petitions CM Over 22-A Land Issue
A woman from East Godavari petitioned Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over a house site that was reportedly classified under the prohibited 22-A category.
A land dispute from East Godavari district came to the fore during Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Banaganapalle in Nandyal district on Thursday.
Mutyala Sai Deepthi of Mandapeta submitted a petition stating that a house site patta had been granted in her mother's name in 2003 for a plot located along the Mandapeta main road. Owing to her mother's ill health, the property was transferred to her father through a gift deed in 2015. Since then, the family has remained in possession of the land and has been regularly paying panchayat taxes.
However, when the family approached officials for regularisation under the Pattadar Regularisation Scheme-2025, the local tahsildar reportedly informed them that the land falls under the prohibited 22-A category and could not be regularised.
Taking note of the grievance, officials said the East Godavari Collector would meet the petitioner's father at 2 pm on Friday to examine the issue and take appropriate steps to ensure justice.
