PM Surya Ghar Scheme Rolled Out in Addanki Villages; Minister Assures Solar Units for Eligible Households
He further dedicated CC roads and side-drainage works worth Rs 40 lakh in Kothuru village
NELLORE: Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Thursday launched the PM Surya Ghar scheme in Jammalamadaka and Kotha Jammalamadaka SC colonies under Velamavaripalem panchayat in Addanki constituency, assuring rooftop solar units for all eligible households.
The minister said nearly 200 families in three villages have already received free rooftop solar units under the scheme. He said more households were showing interest after witnessing the benefits and noted that wider adoption of solar energy would help reduce electricity bills while supporting the state’s clean energy goals.
During his visit to Addanki constituency, Ravi Kumar also inaugurated a BT road constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore connecting Kopperapadu, Jammalamadaka, Kothuru and Velamavaripalem, fulfilling an election commitment. He further dedicated CC roads and side-drainage works worth Rs 40 lakh in Kothuru village.
The minister said power infrastructure in Velamavaripalem, Pedda Jammalamadaka and Kothuru villages had been strengthened under the RDSS scheme with an investment of `2.33 crore. The works included the installation of 752 electricity poles and seven transformers to address power interruptions and low-voltage issues.
Ravi Kumar said the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was committed to welfare and infrastructure development. He later received public grievances and directed officials to ensure their prompt resolution.
Officials, public representatives and coalition leaders attended the programme.
