PDSO Demands Notification For 11,639 Police Posts
PDSO has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to issue a notification for 11,639 vacant police posts and provide age relaxation for affected aspirants.
The Progressive Democratic Students’ Organisation (PDSO) has demanded that the state government immediately issue a mega police recruitment notification to fill 11,639 vacant posts in the department. The organisation said thousands of unemployed youth have been preparing for years, undergoing coaching and physical endurance training, while enduring financial hardship and mental stress in the hope of securing police jobs.
Despite repeated appeals and protests by candidates, the government has delayed the notification, leading to frustration among aspirants and a shortage of personnel in the department. PDSO argued that the delay is pushing many candidates beyond the age limit, depriving them of eligibility after years of preparation. It described this as unethical and urged the government to provide justice to those crossing the age threshold.
The organisation demanded that the age limit be raised to 35 years and special relaxation granted to those who lost eligibility due to the delay. It stressed that all vacancies should be filled, not just a few hundred posts, and called for clarity on the number of vacancies, examination schedule, age criteria, and recruitment process. PDSO insisted that the process be completed within a stipulated time frame to avoid further burden on candidates already struggling with training expenses.
State general secretary Suresh said the government must act without delay to release a comprehensive notification covering all 11,639 posts along with additional requirements, ensure age relaxation, and expedite recruitment. He added that PDSO fully supports the just demands of police job aspirants and their ongoing struggle for employment.
