VISAKHAPATNAM: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has temporarily waived OTP-based authentication for domestic LPG cylinder deliveries across 13 cyclone-affected districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The exemption follows widespread power outages and disruptions to mobile and internet services caused by the cyclone. The ministry has also approved a "cash-and-carry" system, allowing consumers to collect LPG cylinders directly from distributors by paying cash.

Authorities have been directed to implement both measures in cyclone-affected villages of Anakapalli district to ensure an uninterrupted supply of domestic cooking gas and minimise inconvenience to consumers.

The arrangements will remain in effect until further orders. Residents have been requested to use the facilities as needed and cooperate with LPG distributors.
