Neha Bora Says Modi Regime’s Neglect Triggered Youth Protests
The AISA president said students and parents had joined the agitation over examination irregularities and injustices.
Vijayawada:Narendra Modi government landed in trouble not merely over the NEET paper leak and cancellation of the examination, but also due to its failure to respond responsibly and transparently to students’ concerns, AISA national president Neha Bora, one among the Gen Z movement leaders said in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Speaking at a Meet the Press programme organised by the Vijayawada Press Club and APUWJ (AP Union of Working Journalists), Neha Bora alleged that not only the central government ignored the students protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, it attempted to provoke hostility against them.
The AISA president said students and parents had joined the agitation over examination irregularities and injustices. The BJP and RSS, she alleged, interfered to gain political mileage, prolonging the agitation.
Neha Bora criticised the police action against 60-year-old Sonam Wangchuk, alleging that he had forcibly been shifted to the hospital despite fasting for students’ rights. She said the July 20 Delhi developments exposed the government’s approach. The AISA president said the resignation of union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan would not resolve the issue. What is required is a systemic change. She accused the government of divisive politics and called for a complete overhaul of the education system.
With regard to Andhra Pradesh, Neha Bora demanded clarity on sports quota reservations and probes into paper leaks, mass copying, and CCTV footage.
